Britannia rules the Rhine: Die britische Rheinlandbesatzung 1918-1926

The Allied Rhineland occupation after the First World War has so far been told mainly as a story of Franco-German conflict. This study highlights the relations between the British occupation authorities and the local population for the first time based on an extensive body of sources from British and German archives. In doing so it gives a more nuanced view of the Allied Rhineland occupation.
