1625 pasó a la historia como el Annus Mirabilis de la Monarquía Hispánica, que enfrentándose a casi todas las grandes potencias europeas del momento las había vencido en escenarios repartidos por Flandes, el sur de Europa, el Mediterráneo, Sudamérica, el Caribe, el Pacífico, África y Asia. La presente obra analiza todos los triunfos de aquel año irrepetible. De aquellas victorias, fue la recuperación de Salvador de Bahía en Brasil la más destacada, por su importancia estratégica y por la eficacia logística que supuso la organización de una armada de más de cincuenta barcos en tiempo récord y el traslado de cinco tercios de infantería desde Europa a Sudamérica.

1625 went down in history as the Annus Mirabilis (Miraculous Year) of the Spanish Monarchy, which, facing almost all the great European powers of the time, had defeated them in scenarios spread across Flanders, southern Europe, the Mediterranean, South America, the Caribbean, the Pacific, Africa and Asia. This work analyses all the triumphs of that unrepeatable year. Of those victories, the recovery of Salvador de Bahía in Brazil was the most notable, due to its strategic importance and the logistical efficiency that entailed the organisation of an armada of more than fifty ships in record time and the transfer of five infantry troops from Europe to South America.
